Spin My Read respects your privacy. This policy explains the limited personal data processed when you use this website and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data processed when you visit

No account is required. Spin My Read does not use analytics, advertising pixels or first-party tracking cookies at launch. The hosting service may process technical server-log data such as IP address, browser type, requested page, time of access and referring URL to deliver and secure the site. These logs may be retained for up to 30 days.

Books skipped during a spin remain only in the current browser tab’s memory and disappear when that page session ends. They are not submitted to us or stored as a reading history.

Purposes and legal basis

• Website delivery and security: legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
• Legal obligations: Article 6(1)(c) GDPR where records must be retained by law.
• Consent: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR if an optional consent-based feature is added later.

Affiliate and external links

Spin My Read participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. The site itself does not set an Amazon tracking cookie merely because you view a page. If you follow an Amazon affiliate link, Amazon may process the referral and set cookies under its own privacy policy. We may receive aggregated commission information, not your Amazon account, payment details or personal order identity.

Amazon, PagePath and other outbound retailers operate under their own privacy terms. Their services may process data outside the EU/EEA using the transfer mechanisms described in their policies.

Sharing and retention

We do not sell personal data. Technical data is shared only with service providers needed to host, secure and deliver the site, or with an external service you deliberately visit. Server logs may be retained for up to 30 days; browser-session wheel state ends with the tab session.

Your GDPR rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent. Contact hello@spinmyread.com.

Security, children and changes

The site uses HTTPS and appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a revised date.

Supervisory authority

You may complain to a data protection authority. The competent authority for the operator is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany: lda.bayern.de.
